Not a morning person? No worries — our afternoon tours are the perfect adventure for late risers, thrill-seekers, and photographers looking to capture Kaua‘i’s coastline in all its dramatic glory. While the seas may be a bit bumpier in the afternoon, that’s what makes it an exciting ride! The shifting light as the day progresses brings the Nā Pali cliffs to life, with vibrant hues that make for unforgettable photos. And even if the weather’s a little moody, there’s no such thing as a bad day on the Nā Pali coast — rain or shine, the scenery is out of this world (just ask Jurassic Park).
Note: Ocean and weather conditions guide each unique adventure. While we can’t guarantee snorkeling or cave visits, we promise to make your experience unforgettable while keeping safety our top priority.

Tours from Port Allen spend hours traveling to and from the Nā Pali, seeing only a portion of the coast. Our Hanalei departure means more time exploring and less time getting there. Check the map — Port Allen routes vs. our direct Hanalei route.

Our afternoon tours showcase the coast’s most photogenic moments:
- Capture the cliffs gilded in warm afternoon sunlight, perfect for photographers
- Watch for majestic Humpback whales breaching in their natural habitat (November-April)
- Witness dramatic sea caves and cascading waterfalls in peak flow
- Enjoy smaller group sizes for a more personalized adventure
- Spot spinner dolphins, sea turtles, and other marine life at play
Your afternoon journey begins with check-in between 12:00-12:30 p.m. at our office. Our 35-foot power catamaran departs from Hanalei Bay for a spectacular 3-hour tour. Our experienced crew provides fascinating historical and cultural narration throughout your journey.
This focused tour allows you to experience the Nā Pali Coast during its most dramatic lighting conditions, making it a favorite among photographers and adventure seekers alike. We recommend bringing sun protection to stay comfortable while capturing nature’s spectacular show.
Please note that snorkeling and lunch are not included on this tour.
